You may softly mix the ingredients together, but avoid beating them. To make sure that the cake comes out fluffy, fold in the ingredients gently until they are fully combined.

Add Icing

This pound cake is tasty sprinkled with powdered sugar , but you can also top it with an icing or glaze.

To make a simple vegan glaze , combine 1 cup confectioners’ sugar and 1 tablespoon dairy-free milk in a mixing bowl. You might also add a drop or two of flavor extract, such as lemon or orange.

You could even try the pineapple glaze from this Pineapple Coconut Cake or the lemon glaze from this Blueberry Lemon Yogurt Cake.

Make sure the pound cake is totally cold before putting the glaze on top.

Serve With Fruit & Cream

This cake tastes great on its own, but you can also serve it with fresh fruit and dairy-free whipped cream. That is also how I serve my vegan cheesecake!

FAQs About Vegan Pound Cake

Why is my vegan cake so dense?

If you use too much flour, the cake will be overly thick. You should also ensure that the batter retains as much air as possible. There are many approaches you may take.

In general, sieving your flour will make your pound cake fluffier.

Additionally, prepare your pans before you begin making the cake. This will decrease the amount of the time that the batter sits and loses air.

You should also refrain from using an electric beater. Instead, fold in your ingredients.

Are Bundt cake and pound cake the same thing?

Not exactly. Nevertheless, for some reason, I am asked that question often. A bundt cake is a circular cake with a central hole. So it’s all about the cake’s form. You can pour any type of cake batter into a bundt pan—including pound cake.

Pound cake is a rich, moist cake that may be prepared in any form, including Bundt.

How long should you beat a pound cake?

If you really must use an electric mixer, then mix the ingredients on medium-high to high for 3–7 minutes. But, while combining the liquid and dry components, use low to medium-low heat.

If you want a fluffier pound cake, fold in the ingredients instead of using an electric mixer.

What is the best flour to use for pound cake?

All-purpose flour or cake flour may be used. Using cake flour will make your pound cake slightly softer and a bit less dense.

Can you overbeat a pound cake?

If you overbeat the eggs or the butter and sugar, the cake will rise and overflow in the oven. To avoid this, don’t use your electric mixer on high.

Overbeating the eggs might result in a brittle crust, so be careful not to overbeat the pound cake.
